Royal Wedding Choir Conductor Is Of Guyanese Parentage
It’s only been two days since Prince Harry and Mehgan Markle tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at St. George’s Chapel on the grounds of Winsdor Castle but the internet is still abuzz with details of the latest Royal nuptials. Among the wedding’s memorable moments was a musical rendition of Ben E. King’s Stand By Me by The Kingdom Choir led by Choir Director Karen Gibson.
Gibson is the founder of the Kingdom Choir and conducts and directs the choir herself. With a vast history in the music industry, Karen has provided backing vocals for acts such as Grace Kennedy and The Beautiful South. She is also of Guyanese decent as reported by Guyanese Girls Rock.
On the group’s Instagram page, Gibson said “The Kingdom Choir is truly honored to be invited to sing at the wedding of Prince Harry and Ms. Markle, and very excited to be taking part in such a historic moment.
“It will be a moment that we will always treasure, and we’d like to take the opportunity to wish the couple all the very best for their coming union.”
