CaFA founder/curator Anderson M. Pilgrim indicates that "One generation ago, such artists would have been considered outside the mainstream. Today, we see works by fresh and exciting Diaspora artists entering major museum collections, and are being presented by top galleries at events such as Miami Art Week". Pilgrim feels that the marketing focus in global fine art afford opportunities for diversity as it depicts a truer reflection of the world.
