You don’t always have to leave US soil to have an unforgettable vacation. Some of our favorite travel influencers and experts share where they like to go when visiting new destinations in America and among the US territories, and these cities and towns are just a car ride or short flight away and don’t require a passport.
Abena: Puerto Rico changed my opinion about domestic travel and holds a special place in my heart. Am I the only who thinks that flights throughout the US are way too expensive to underwhelming destinations? However, when a low-cost airline launched a new flight route to San Juan from Philadelphia, I couldn’t pass up the $110 ticket. PR blew me away because of its diverse landscapes, picturesque architecture, and rich culture. I left wishing I had about another week to explore this spectacular island that is anything but basic.

Tiffanie: My absolute favorite domestic destination is the Virgin Islands. I’m a Caribbean gyal and I have family living in St. Thomas. From St. Thomas, it’s super easy to see friends and family in the British Virgin Islands as well. Everything about the islands makes me happy; the people, the weather, the food, the music – I just can’t get enough.
Oneika: I recently traveled to New Orleans for the first time and fell in love with the culture, history, and musical nature of the city! It’s definitely at the top of my list.

Osazomon:Brooklyn and Atlanta. Brooklyn is an out-of-body experience consistently reminding me of the other dope souls like myself who are all hungry for more life, happily of course. Atlanta has my favorite thing in the world: Africansssssssss! It’s my favorite domestic hub to enjoy being an African in America.
